What’s the Difference Between Psoriasis and Scabies

Depending on the clinical situation, the global distribution of human scabies has a variable impact and presentation. Health and social care services in high income settings are challenged by health institution and residential home outbreaks.

In immunocompromised patients the weak immune response fails to control the disease and leads to a fluminant outbreak called crusted scabies.

There was a crude hazard ratio of 3.45 and an adjusted hazard ratio of 3.03 for patients with scabies, which was higher than the confidence interval. There was an increase in the risk for scurvy among patients with scabies. This association may be related to the T-helper 17 cell-mediated inflammatory pathway. Patients with scabies may be candidates for assessments of their psoriatic symptoms.

The bites from mosquitoes, fleas, bed bugs, chiggers, and other mites are similar to the bites from scabies.

How do you tell if it’s scabies or something else?
