What is the Difference Between Baptist and Christian?

A member of a group of Protestant Christians who share the basic beliefs of most Protestants but who insist that only believers should bebaptized and that it should be done by immersion rather than by sprinkling or pouring water.

The group of Baptists are Christians. The Protestant movement of Christianity has many Baptists as members. They believe that a person can be saved if they have faith in God and Jesus. The sanctity of the Bible is something that Baptists believe in. They believe that a person must be completely immersed in water in order to be christened. The difference between the Baptists and other Christian denominations is significant. Most Baptists believe that the government should have high moral standards and be of a religious character, but they also believe in a separation between the church and the government. Many Baptists are looking for converts to their faith. They have a lot of power in the hands of their individual congregations. More than 30 million Baptists lived in the United States in the early 1990s.
